The Patient Experience Institute (PXI) is an independent, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization committed to the improvement of patient experience through evidence-based research and professional development efforts including certification and continuing education. PXI’s focus is on providing a framework for supporting the development of the field of patient experience in conjunction with its sister organizations, The Beryl Institute and Patient Experience Journal.
PXI is committed to help frame and expand the field of patient experience, develop leaders on the front lines and throughout the experience movement, and provide information and research to support expanded focus and measured impact of patient experience in healthcare.

Jessica Barker, MA, CPXP
Director, Certification and Continuing Education
Jessica supports the development of leaders throughout the experience movement through expanded knowledge and provided information on Certified Patient Experience Professional (CPXP) designation and Patient Experience Continuing Education (PXE) credits. She has over 15 years of experience working in the healthcare field, most recently as a patient health educator in her previous position. She is committed to spreading Patient Experience Institute’s commitment to the improvement of patient experience through evidence-based research, continuing education and professional certification. She holds a Master’s Degree in Community Health Education from Ball State University and lives in Indiana with her husband Ryan, her 2 kids, and their dogs. She has a love for cooking, photography and enjoys spending time with her family.
Jason A. Wolf, PhD, CPXP
Jason is a passionate champion and recognized expert on patient experience improvement, organization culture and change, and sustaining high performance in healthcare. As President, Jason conceived of and founded Patient Experience Institute with the intent of creating a professional foundation on which the field of patient experience could stand and establishing the framework for the emerging profession of patient experience. Jason also serves as President of The Beryl Institute, the leading global community of practice and thought leader on improving the patient experience, engaging over 55,000 members and guests in more than 70 countries. He is also the Founding Editor of the Patient Experience Journal, the first open-access, peer-reviewed journal committed to research and practice in patient experience improvement. Jason is a sought after speaker, provocative commentator, and respected author of numerous publications and academic articles on culture, organization change and performance in healthcare. He currently resides in Nashville, TN with his wife, Beth and sons Samuel and Ian.

As a 501(c)(3), Patient Experience Institute relies heavily on the support of supporters large and small to be able to expand the patient experience conversation and movement. Shortly the opportunity to give directly to PXI will be available.
